Site readiness guide
DJI Dock 4 installation requirements.
A pre-planning reference for power, network, foundation, environmental exposure, O4 Ground Station placement, and the site survey required before permanent installation.

Core site requirements.
A reliable installation begins with a site survey. Confirm the full operating area, approach and departure paths, GNSS/RTK environment, O4 Ground Station coverage, local airspace constraints, network performance, power quality, and physical access before civil work begins.
| Area | Requirement or planning target |
|---|---|
| Power | Stable 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz supply; dock maximum input power 2,000 W. Provide compliant circuit protection, grounding, and surge/lightning measures for the installation region. |
| Network | Gigabit Ethernet recommended. Uplink and downlink above 20 Mbps; 40 Mbps or more recommended when no external devices are connected. Target latency no more than 100 ms. |
| Dock altitude | Install at 5,000 m or below. |
| Temperature | Published dock operating range is −40° to 50° C. |
| Weather | Maximum published operating wind speed 12 m/s and rainfall intensity 2 mm/h. Local exposure, drainage, icing, snow, salt, dust, and maintenance access still require assessment. |
| O4 Ground Station | Required for Dock 4. Install in an open, unobstructed location and verify coverage through an on-site aircraft survey before permanent installation. |
| Ethernet cable | Outdoor-rated, waterproof Cat 6 or better twisted pair; maximum 80 m. Use the DJI-supplied cable for runs under 5 m where practical. |
| Foundation | 400 × 400 mm mounting-hole pattern. Foundation engineering, anchoring, drainage, access, and local structural requirements remain site-specific. |
Pre-installation workflow.
Use the sequence below to reduce redesign, network blind spots, and compliance delays. It is a planning framework, not a substitute for DJI's Installation and Setup Manual or qualified local engineering.
Define the mission envelope
Map target assets, response radius, planned routes, required payload functions, flight frequency, and expected turnaround.
Survey airspace and radio conditions
Review local operating rules, obstacles, GNSS conditions, takeoff and landing paths, and O4 Ground Station coverage.
Verify power and network
Measure bandwidth and latency at the intended dock and O4 locations. Confirm a compliant electrical design for the dock's published maximum input.
Engineer the physical site
Confirm mounting, drainage, grounding, lightning protection, weather exposure, service clearance, physical security, and maintenance access.
Commission and validate
Follow DJI setup procedures, update firmware, test communications and failsafes, validate routes, and document acceptance criteria before routine operation.
Installation questions.
Answers below summarize published DJI requirements. Project designs should be confirmed against the current manuals and local regulations.
What power supply does DJI Dock 4 require?
DJI specifies 100–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz and a maximum input power of 2,000 W. Final circuit design, protection, grounding, and local electrical compliance must be completed by qualified personnel.
What network connection is recommended for DJI Dock 4?
DJI recommends Gigabit Ethernet. Both uplink and downlink bandwidth must exceed 20 Mbps; 40 Mbps or higher is recommended when no external devices are connected. Latency should be no more than 100 ms.
Where should the DJI O4 Ground Station be installed?
The O4 Ground Station must be installed in an open, unobstructed location. DJI recommends conducting an on-site survey with a compatible Matrice 4 Series or Matrice 4D Series aircraft before permanent installation.
Can DJI Dock 4 reuse a Dock 3 foundation?
The 400 × 400 mm mounting-hole pattern is compatible, but the complete site must still be reassessed for power, network, clearance, drainage, grounding, O4 Ground Station placement, and local compliance.
