How an autonomous dock mission works.
Operators define the mission, confirm weather and site conditions, dispatch the aircraft remotely, monitor progress, and review captured data in FlightHub 2. After the aircraft returns, the dock prepares it for the next approved operation.
With DJI Dock 4, the readiness cycle includes an automated battery swap. DJI states a 25-second swap time and a minimum 45-second interval between consecutive operations in controlled testing.
Plan and authorize
Define the route, target, flight parameters, safety conditions, and personnel responsible for remote supervision.
Dispatch and monitor
Launch the aircraft, track telemetry and live video, and maintain the operational controls required by the mission and local rules.
Capture inspection evidence
Collect visible, thermal, or other sensor data appropriate to the asset and inspection objective.
Return and recover
The aircraft returns to the dock for landing, post-flight handling, and readiness preparation.
Review and act
Organize media, compare repeat missions, identify anomalies, and route decisions to the responsible team.
